History

In 1910 Mr George Adams opened a butcher's shop in The Crescent, Spalding, Lincolnshire, with an initial capital of £10, serving the people of the town of with quality meats and handmade pork pies. The introduction of a pork pie postal service in 1923 enabled the business to expand and gain considerable renown outside of Lincolnshire. Growing consumer demand led to the formation of a company which became a large-scale food manufacturer focusing on pie, sausage and cooked meat manufacture.

Geo. Adams & Sons Retail is still family owned and at the site of the original shop. Alongside a range of locally sourced fresh meat, is a varied selection of regional specialities crafted on site and sold under the George Adams Heritage label. Passionate About Our Pork Pies

Early in the 1900's, the room above the original butcher's shop in Spalding was used to produce the tasty hand raised pork pies for which George Adams originally became known. Pies made entirely by hand involve the shaping of hot pastry around a mould, which is then left to set before filling with fresh Lincolnshire pork (seasoned with salt and pepper) and then baking each day. We are still using this traditional process to create our delicious hand raised pork pies. They have a characteristic slumped appearance, crisp pastry and tender, well seasoned meat with a cushion of pork jelly.

Sausage Satisfaction

Our celebrated Lincolnshire sausages are a mix of coarsely chopped fresh Lincolnshire pork with a secret blend of seasonings including rubbed sage. George Adams Lincolnshire sausages are hand filled into natural casings to make the most succulent sausages for breakfast, lunch or supper. They are one of the most popular butcher's speciality sausages currently enjoyed by families everywhere. The county and the company is also renowned for it's "Lincolnshire Acelet'' a traditional cooked pork meat loaf, again seasoned with sage.
